Sus antecedentes los encontramos varios a\u00f1os antes , concretamente en 1879, desde ese a\u00f1o un grupo de vecinos comenz\u00f3 a organizarse para la lograr la construcci\u00f3n un stand de tiro donde pudieran adiestrarse los j\u00f3venes locales y las Guardias Nacionales de la \u00e9poca. En 1895 exist\u00eda un stand de tiro del cual actualmente se desconoce la ubicaci\u00f3n exacta,\u00a0 primera comisi\u00f3n estuvo conformada por el Dr. Carmelo Crespo (Presidente), Dr. Antonio Medina (Vicepresidente), Dr. Rodolfo del Valle (Secretario), Sr. Pedro Garc\u00eda (Tesorero),\u00a0 Mayor Jos\u00e9 Supisiche (Comisario de tiro), Dr. Isidoro Garay y Dr. Bartolome Garc\u00eda (Vocales).<\/p><p>La fundaci\u00f3n del Tiro Federal Gualeguay &#8220;Brigadier Gral. Justo Jos\u00e9 de Urquiza&#8221; coincidi\u00f3 con la de muchos otros tiros de la provincia, en todos los casos motivados por la necesidad de fomentar la pr\u00e1ctica del tiro no solamente como deporte sino como adiestramiento para los soldados y j\u00f3venes en el manejo de los fusiles Mauser para estar preparados en caso de necesidad de concurrir en defensa de la Patria. realizar pr\u00e1ctica de tiro con armas de fuego hasta tanto realizara las obras necesarias para su habilitaci\u00f3n.
